This is a wall art made with vintage silk kimono from the 1970s.

This haori jacket fabric has unique wavy woven lines that give this fabric more dimensions. These plum blossoms are beautifully handpainted and the butterflies are stenciled and the detailed designs on their bodies and wings are meticulously handpainted. Fully bloomed plum blossoms are seen in Japan from the end of the cold months to the beginning of the spring. Ume signifies tolerance and strength as it blooms beautifully during the cold winter months. One can only assume that this haori jacket was made with a wish or a longing for the warmer months to come. This is an elegant one-of-a-kind piece of art work.
